I grew up watching my mother and grandmother endlessly beading fancy fabrics, quilting blankets, and sewing my school dresses. I absorbed it all and it spills out onto these tapestries in unexpected ways. I fell in love with the freedom of creating art eliminating standard structures. I saw the yards of canvas flowing out like yards of velvet or cotton on a sewing table. My vision is to make art with immediacy and to see beyond borders.
